Lessons Learned during Hurricane Ian ~~ Be prepared

Last week we were in the direct path of Hurricane Ian and thankfully it changed direction 15 minutes before and went to other areas of Florida - the damages that were done to those areas was heart breaking and my prayers are with them. We are so very Lucky.

We had no power for a week and had damages but they are repairable. I had been researching for some time ways to be prepared for emergencies and going off the grid and what I would need if something happened that forced us to do just that. Food, water, emergency items to have on hand, etc. I honestly think alot about going off grid or going to some other country (unfortunately John wont) - Some of my research led me to Coreys Digs - She has been doing this a long time and is an amazing researcher. I had this information and thought I would share with you some of what she has done - There is so much on her site that can help you with everything. Anyway hope it helps you in any way. I will be sharing more information from others as I can.

I know many of you have asked via email if I was going to keep posting because I had not for months. Well Good News ~~ I am back. I was unable to post or do anything since Sept. when I started having major nerve/back problems making it impossible for me to do anything but lay in bed. I had a lumbar compression and spine fusion Feb 17th and I am happy to say I am finally able to do more and more and the surgery was a success.

I researched quite a but laying in bed on my Ipad and tried many products for pain that I will be sharing with you hopefully this week but if not it will be next week. Stay tuned.

Thank you to those of you who sent me emails wondering where I have been - I appreciate it so much. So Happy to be back with no pain.

Cancer FREE After 11 years ~~ So Thankful

Hard to believe its been 11 years since they told me I would be dead in 3 months.... I fought back and work hard to stay cancer free by researching everything I can to stay that way. I share what I can with you either here or on my Facebook page. I hope I have been able to help you with your journey.

We Remember Sept 11, 2001 - Because we can NEVER FORGET.

Very few words can describe what happened on that day 15 yrs ago ~~ there are just no words. The terror and horror they and their families went thru is beyond belief. Every year I remember where I was and it still feels the same as it did that day. I can not imagine having lost anyone in that tragedy.

To honor the Heroes of 9-11, I post something every year. This year I never really knew the whole story of the Man in the "Red Bandana" til I read the new book that just came out. Great Book and what a guy he was.....True American Hero to so many 15 yrs later.

I know now what he did in has last hour of his life. I am not sure I could do the same.

He is truly one of a kind and a true hero who saved at least 12 others by going back into the towers several times until he tragically lost his life when the 2nd tower collasped. They finally were able to put him to rest when his body was found in March, 6 months later.

To have someone so young show us how to step up in a moment of crisis showed us what an incredible young man he was - He saved so many and in the end gave up his own life. He is such an inspiration to me and so many.

Love this guy.. he spreads inspiring music all over the world. Nimo was inspired to write this song from his experiences living in the Gandhi Ashram in India for the past 5 years. Mahatma Gandhi practiced a life and message of non-violence and love. I’m Gonna Miss You

The song “I’m Gonna Miss You” was originally written in 2013 right before I left to go to Infantry Officer Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA. I originally wrote it to my family as a gift and to say goodbye. I was scared at the time, not knowing what the future held, and knowing that joining the Infantry meant there was a chance I could would be deployed, and moreover that I could die. On the first day Justin and I met, I played “I’m Gonna Miss You” as we were exchanging our originals. He liked it, and he never forgot about the song.

I never thought that I would be releasing “I’m Gonna Miss You” as a tribute to Memorial Day, until after our first deployment. The song took on a whole new meaning after we lost some of our soldiers in 2014. I can remember the wave of fear and the eerie silence that filled the air after all was said and done. I know Justin felt it too. He says that his entire company was different after. Not more than six hours earlier they were sitting right there in that chair laughing.

Music Without Words "To touch the hearts of 7 billion people, a call to humanity and a Message of Love

World-renowned guitarist, JOE SATRIANI and United Nations Musical Director ROBIN DIMAGGIO, recently teamed up to compose the song, “Music Without Words”. The song was first unveiled at the June 30th “Annual Presidential General Assembly of the UN 69th Session Gala” in New York City after being co-written by the two exclusively for the special event. The Assembly and Gala featured world dignitaries as well as the Heads of States from nations across the globe.

Accompanying the song is a dramatic music video directed by Ramin Ouladi, Los Angeles-based director, cinematographer, and editor, who developed the video concept, a variety of images featuring children from around the world. The goal of the song was to “touch the hearts of seven billion people, a call to humanity, a message of love,” according to SATRIANI.

A portion of all proceeds raised from downloads and streams will be donated to support UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund.
